Keep important medical information on a card in your wallet, purse or taped to the refrigerator so it is readily available in an emergency. Include:

  1. A list with the exact names and dosages of the medications you take, prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and supplements used by the people living in the house.
  2. A list of any allergies, especially to drugs.
  3. Your primary doctor's name and telephone number.
  4. The name and phone number of a relative or friend you would like called in an emergency. 

    5.   Do Not Resuscitate Order



















Welcome to the Northumberland Rescue Squad

We are a non-profit, all volunteer rescue squad with two locations. 

  • Reedville.  This is our main building, located at 412 Reed Avenue, where we hold our meetings, training, and other functions.  This building is equipped with a generator, kitchen and storage.  A garage houses one of our rescue squads and our disaster relief trailer. 
  • Burgess.  This building is located at 400 Hacks Neck Road.  The station is a metal building with two ambulances, storage, and a generator.

Our main goal is to provide the best possible pre-hospital care to the citizens of the lower part of Northumberland County. 

Our boundries are Cedar Point Road, south including Hull Neck, Ophelia, Sunnybank, Reedville, Fleeton, Fairport, Whay's Creek, Burgess, Glebe Point, Wicomico Church and to the intersection of Crosshills Road at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

We currently have 3 ambulances:

  • Unit 74  Housed primarily in Reedville 
  • Unit 75  Housed primarily in Burgess
  • Unit 76  Housed primarily in Burgess

All of our ambulances are capable of running as BLS (Basic Life Support) or ALS (Advanced Life Support).

Our volunteers are all State Certified EMTs and trained to provide care.  All drivers are Emergency Vehicle Operator Certified and CPR trained.
